Welcome to Chalice Cafe, a hidden gem nestled inside the bustling Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 5501 Josh Birmingham Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28208. If you're passing through one of America's busiest terminals and looking for a moment of reprieve, this charming café provides not just a refreshing break from travel stress but also a delightful culinary experience.

Chalice Cafe boasts a relatively concise menu, focusing on quality over quantity, ensuring that every dish is crafted with care. Their offerings include delicious Soup & Salads like the savory Turkey Cobb Salad, or the crisp, refreshing Classic Caesar, perfect for travelers seeking satisfaction without the heaviness. For those craving a more substantial bite, their Flatbreads are a must-try; indulge in flavors such as the Chicken Pesto or the Roasted Vegetable flatbread, where wholesome ingredients come together in a perfect harmony that will delight your palate.

Not to be missed, the café also serves unique selections like the Café Breakfast Wrap, ensuring that whether it’s breakfast or lunch, there is something here to hit the spot. Customer favorites reveal that, although this café revels in simplicity, the food is anything but ordinary. As one satisfied traveler, Stuart S., noted, “The turkey avocado wrap came to my table in about 4 minutes and was fresh and delicious.” The quick service, while complemented by friendly staff, creates a laid-back atmosphere where you can recharge as you await your flight.

While Chalice Cafe stands out in an airport often branded with typical fast food options, it still finds itself faced with a few critiques. Nina McDonald, for instance, offered a mixed review, commenting on some dishes having typical airport food qualities, yet also highlighted the café's unexpectedly joyful ambiance, courtesy of a well-curated '70s soundtrack that lightens the mood during those long delays.

For those keen on enjoying a beverage with their meal, the bartenders at Chalice Cafe are known for their hospitality, crafting cocktails that multiple patrons have praised. Jackie Walcott, while experiencing a minor hiccup with her fries, still found delight in her Grilled Chicken BLT and an enjoyable drink, showcasing the café’s ability to exceed expectations even amidst the busy airport environment.

Overall, Chalice Cafe is not just another airport eatery; it’s a welcoming sanctuary where the food is good, service is quick, and the ambiance is surprisingly pleasant. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a while due to a flight delay, Chalice Cafe offers a trustworthy dining experience that can make even the busiest travel days a little brighter. So, take a break, let their friendly team take care of you, and savor the unique offerings this café has to provide.

Pleasant alternative to the the Starbucks next door. There were tables while we waited through flight cancellations and plenty of coffee. Pricey, but what do you expect from the airport.

Good food and quick service. Only downside is there’s just one server, so you may need to be a bit proactive if you want a refill or the check.

For limited options in one of the busiest terminals in one of the busiest airports in the US... The Chalice Cafe stands out! It's not a huge menu but the turkey avocado wrap came to my table in about 4 minutes and was fresh and delicious. Courtney was friendly and very efficient with the table service. The bartenders were kind and friendly too. The team works well together and in a small place and a busy terminal work together to provide a really good experience.

Typical airport food. Wilted Caesars with bottle dressing. Oversalted BLTs and Cobb salads. And wimpy flatbreads... Although, the vegetable one was actually quite tasty. But gosh how can I be a sour puss.? Plane was delayed 3 and 1/2 hours so I got stuck here... And surprise surprise, an amazingly curated '70s playlist playing overhead on a pretty decent speaker system. Really kind of nice. I've got to ask if it's Spotify, or what?... I'm nostalgically enjoying a glass of wine and memories of high school and my first two years of college. So how fun is that? Also they have a fun little line list... Actually discovered a newTempranillo(Marques de Caceres). Plus the wait staff is fast friendly and intelligent. So what's not to like? If you're in terminal C and you're waiting for a plane this is not a bad place to be.

Had a layover so chose this cafe . Was hoping to have breakfast but I missed the slot so I ordered lunch and a cocktail. I can’t recall the drink I ordered but it was very good, I also ordered the Grilled Chicken BLT with a side of fruits and it came with house fries. The fries were a bit stale and weren’t needed with my meal. Overall the meal was good. Atmosphere was okay for the time being and the attendant was nice & efficient.

Just witnessed an amazing job by both the server and the manager in dealing with someone who had too much to drink or more and was inappropriate with his comments towards the young lady bartending. Great job by both of them letting him know he would not be getting served and it was for his own safety. The Jedi mind trick worked and he left with out incident. Both employees should be proud of how they handled it and a stark reminder of how much stuff restaurant and bar workers deal with on a daily basis. Always overtip your server.
